Tip Tuesday – Hydrate

Happy Tip Tuesday!

One vital part of recovery is keeping your body hydrated to it can heal. Especially during winter months, it can be hard to keep hydrated as we don’t feel as thirsty. Make sure to keep a glass of water or bottle near you. Some ladies even set alarms to help remind them to keep up with the water intake. Even if you aren’t thirsty, make sure you are drinking those ounces! Help your body to heal faster and return to normal functions.

Stay hydrated

One of the most important things you can do during recovery, is stay hydrated. Keep a water bottle near by and make sure you are getting multiple glasses down a day!

Get a fun water bottle to use. Set an alarm to remind you to take a few sips. Just make sure to keep your body hydrated to help aid in surgery recovery.

When you are discharged from the hospital please keep an eye out for the following:

  • High, persistent fever
  • Abnormal wound drainage
  • Worsening pain
  • difficulty breathing
  • excessive vaginal bleeding

If you are experiencing any of the above, please contact your doctor or go to the ER.  Also, trust your gut! You know your body!  If you feel something is off, give your doctor to call.
