We love the Tummy Pocket Pillow

Not only does the Tummy Pocket Pillow come in handy during your hysterectomy recovery – but they come in fun, exciting fabric color choices to encourage you and hopefully – make you smile.

We regularly get in new fabric choices – but they do sell out quickly. If you see one that you want, grab it before it is sold out. We never know if the fabric choices will be repeated again – or not!

How important are pillows to surgery recovery?

Pillows are an important aspect of your hysterectomy recovery and other surgeries like C-section, tummy tuck, hernia repairs. It is recommended that you hold a small pillow (like our Pocket Pillow) over your incision as you cough or sneeze which provides support to your tender belly. Additionally, place a small pillow between your tender incision area and the seatbelt on any car ride to make a safer and more comfortable car ride. We suggest leaving a pillow in the car for this purpose. Once you are at home, your tummy pillow can also be used to prevent pets and small children from bumping your incisions.

Why does this pillow have a pocket?

The pocket on the Hysterectomy Pocket Pillow is to hold an ice pack or a heated pack for your comfort against your tender abdominal incision/s. Our Pocket Pillow comes with 2 cold/hot packs. We send you two so you have one to use while the other is in the freezer or being warmed in the microwave. When this particular tummy pillow was developed, the HysterSisters let us know they were using our cold/hot packs between them and their pillow. “Genius!” we thought! And so, our next generation of tummy pillow added the pocket for the cold/hot packs.

How do I wash my Pocket Pillow?

Remove inserted pillow from the cover. Wash the cover and the pillow separately in cold water, delicate cycle. Tumble dry low or hang to dry.

What is the pillow made from?

The pillow insert is 100% polyester fiberfill. The Pocket Pillow cover is 100% cotton.

What is the Pocket Pillow size?

The Hysterectomy Pocket Pillow is approximately 13″ x 13″. The cover is handmade and may vary slightly in exact sizes.

You are out of my favorite fabric. Will it be back in stock?

Our fabric choices change regularly based on current availability from our vendor. Once a fabric choice is out of stock, we may not see it again. Order your favorite when you see it – as we have no way of knowing how long it will remain in inventory!

Who makes the Pocket Pillow for Hysterectomy Recovery?

The Pocket Pillow was designed specifically for the Hysterectomy Store by women who understand the comfort requirements after a hysterectomy. They are handmade by seamstresses in the USA.

Each pillow comes with 2 cold, hot packs to freeze or warm as you need. Read more about the Tummy Pocket Pillow.

Great Binder set for help during hysterectomy recovery

Great Binder Set

If you are scheduled for an upcoming surgery and wonder which binder you might need, we have made it easy for you. We’ve combined the two best binders for your hysterectomy – tummy tuck, c-section, hernia repair or other abdominal surgery – including the Silky Sac into a great set to save you money!

Compression after a laparoscopic hysterectomy or open abdominal hysterectomy, myomectomy, appendectomy, hernia surgery, or tummy tuck is helpful to your recovery.

Our binders provide support directly to your tummy and back, allowing you to move with less pain and greater mobility. Compression aides to reduce recovery time. Our abdominal binders provide incision support, help prevent tearing, and make it easier to get out of bed, move and walk.

In this set you will receive:

The Abdominal Binder

You’ll want this binder during your hysterectomy recovery, not only for when you are up and walking around but this is a “must have” for side sleepers, to recline comfortably during recovery. You will love this for the best tummy belly support. We can’t say enough good stuff about this product! This binder is great for both horizontal and vertical incisions, as well as for minimally invasive surgery. It’s tapered design allows for an even better fit.

The Pocket Binder

This pocket abdominal Binder for hysterectomy recovery provides cooling relief and support for your hysterectomy or surgery recovery especially during the first few weeks of surgery. The pocket binder comes with 2 cold/heat packs which provide cooling comfort to your tender belly.

Two Cold/Heat Packs

These handy packs are reusable medical packs. Freeze them or heat them and they stay flexible. Freeze in your kitchen freezer for 1-2 hours before using. Heat in boiling water or in a microwave. Apply to your “Owie” for comfort and healing relief.

Silky Sac – Washing bag

What makes Silky Sac different? Most washer bags have either an open mesh or rough yarns. Instead of ‘protecting’ delicate items, they act like a ‘grate’ and actually cause pilling and can snag loosely woven and knitted items. Wash your binders on delicate cycle and keep them protected inside this laundry sack.
